Today is the Day

Well here I am this morning at Starbucks with Robbie still back at home in bed. Once I am up in the morning, I am up and have to get up and do something. My goal was going to the store to get supplies for the store but then I found out no office supply store opens until 9 a.m., so I took a detour!

Yesterday was a busy day for us. We had our new furniture delivered (I'll try to post pictures later) and did other business tasks. Our Californian apartment is finally starting to look like a home. Now all we need is our stuff from Missouri to arrive. We also set up our internet and cable service which will be hooked up Tuesday! Even though I do love a good Starbucks vanilla nonfat latte it will be nice to finally be able to get internet from our apartment!

In addition to all the excitement over technology, today is the day we get the store! At 9 p.m. EST you will be looking at your newest chocolatier duo! It is ultimately exciting...now everything that we have been doing the past week and for Robbie, the past couple months, will finally be at work! I've made checklist after checklist of everything we need to do this week with a day-to-day schedule in my attempt to organize our crazy lives right now. Busy, busy, but very exciting.

That's all the update I have for now, I'll try to figure out how to post some pictures on this for my next post! Have a happy Sunday everyone!!

A Long Road Trip

Hi everyone! Well I haven't blogged for awhile. I had every intention of doing so during moving week, then again on the 26 hour road trip across the country, and finally in the past couple days we've actually been in California and well.....FINALLY getting around to it. But, since we don't have internet set up at our humble abode (apartment) yet, this blog is coming from the friendly Starbucks lobby in Lake Elsinore. (I wonder when they'll get to the point of wondering why they see us in here everyday and sometimes multiple times a day :)). Buuut I sure do enjoy the nice warm beverage every visit!

Well let's see where to begin the update..we ran into a problem getting into our apartment on Sunday when we arrived in Lake E after driving the 3 days straight to finally get here. Turns out we needed a money order for our first month rent/deposit. Very conveniently we arrived on a Sunday...therefore banks are closed...neither of us can remember our PIN numbers to either debit or credit cards to get the cash we need to get a money order. After so much driving of course we were both thrilled..HA! After unloading most of our packed-to-the-ceiling trunk and back seat we still weren't able to find any of the PIN numbers we needed to complete the transaction that needed to happen in order to get the keys to our new home. After much frustration and lots of hours in a car, we spent the night in a hotel once again.

Finally, yesterday (which seems like a week ago!) we were able to go to the bank and get the money order we needed to move into our new apartment. We barely had time to set our things inside and went back to the car to run business related errands. I think I'm beginning to feel what it means to be "busy" and we haven't even gotten the store yet! Yikes!

Another tidbit before I go (our wireless providers...aka Starbucks) is getting ready to close...
Tonight after spending the whole day (since 8:30am) running errands and setting up our various business accounts we came home to finally eat a meal at home with the little bit of groceries we picked up last night to get us through today. Spaghetti was on the menu...so..I had the noodles boiling before I realized that we have no utensils (they're in the trailer of our things yet to arrive) besides plastic forks and spoons. After debating we figured we could use a plastic fork to stir as long as we took it out before it had time to melt. Problem solved, right? Well it was until we realized that the spaghetti sauce that we bought last night somehow did not make it home with us. Awesome. Oh the adventures! Well...on to another busy couple days ahead! Until I am able to write again...have a great week and Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Oh What a Saturday

Woke up this morning wide awake at 7 am on a Saturday! My body gets so use to waking up on a schedule that it can't sense when it is the weekend. Oh well, gives me more time to get things done I suppose. This morning I decided to be a good wife and deliver my husband breakfast in bed. Although of course I was doing it so that he would enjoy it...annnnd maybe a little selfishly to get him out of bed so that I wouldn't be bored with my 7am wake up.

We have someone purchasing our sectional sofa today. Feels weird moving things out but it will be nice to not have to move the piece 1,800 miles next week. They are suppose to be picking it up around noon today which means I should probably clean up a bit AND keep packing. I feel like this packing process is never ending. Friends have told us this will probably be the easiest move we make considering we both just graduated college and live in a 2 bedroom apartment. They say "wait until you have a house, and then kids, imagine all there will be to move then". I can't even imagine!

Rob keeps telling me I should be looking up uniforms that we need to get ordered and I know we probably need to continue the (dreaded) packing. So here I go! Happy Saturday everyone!

Entering the Blogging World

Today I shall become a "blogger". I've always thought it would be fun to get into the blog world but never thought that I could actually do it. I love reading other blogs but I'm just not sure if I've got what it takes. We'll see if anyone actually enjoys reading my two cents worth. Ha!

This year has brought many changes, all very good, to my life. I graduated college in May, got married in June, and now my husband and I are getting ready to move to the sunny (not so snow prone) state of California. My wonderful husband interviewed and was given the opportunity, from the university that we graduated from, to become a franchisee of a Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory store. His degree in Business Management and dream to own a business make this a "sweet" opportunity. Pun intended. Sunny, perfect weather California happens to be where this adventure will land us. I know, I know...sounds rough!

This week has been a whirlwind and the moving countdown has begun. 7 days stand between us and a very LONG road trip. I keep going through different emotions about the fast approaching D-Day. One minute I'll be very excited, can't wait to get there and get started when the next minute I'm thinking how much I'll miss being so close to my amazing friends and family that are so dear to me. I keep saying, and really do mean, I want everyone to come visit us! I'll even bribe you with delicious chocolate and taking you to the beach!

I really should get back to packing. I have boxes staring me down as I am very conveniently procrastinating the dreaded process. Let the purging continue..
